Please check the following site for Global IME: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/features/ime.asp On Win2000, you don't even need Global IME. You can type in Japanese in Word2000, Internet Explorer (in input fields) and Outlook Express. If you are using WinNT, 95, 98, etc, you need Global IME and can use Word2000, etc. Of course, this is very much limited use of PC, but as long as you write and read e-mails and search something on the web by using Japanese keywords, this is good enough.
