Subject: US Championship Format

I'm an American player, and I prefer KO format over Swiss format for this tournament.  Of course, it's also a significant point that the tradition is to have a KO tournament, and I don't think the US Championship has ever been a Swiss event.

The USSF's plans may be to have another championship tournament each year.  This event could be Swiss, so that there would be a KO championship and a Swiss championship.

Format will be knockout at the express request of the visiting pros
(although I and most American players would have preferred Swiss).  The
dates of the event were also chosen to accommodate the pros' schedule.
