But it enables the player to play on > and not loose by time (as in chess). ------------- Well, it's never my goal to enter byoyomi... :) It usually happens because my opening and middle game are not my strong areas, I get myself into some twisted position, and have to try and wriggle free with not much time left on the clock. But because my endgame is quite a bit stronger, I have an easier time coming up with the better moves more quickly in that phase of the game. So obviously I should be tightening up my opening and middle game.... Sal
