From: DANERUD MARTIN TELIA COM> Date: 13 oct 2000 Subject: Takano-san coming to Europe Dear shogi friends, One month out of three has passed of my present visit to Japan. During the last weeks I have enjoyed the company of Mr Takano, living in my neighbourhood, who will go to the Netherlands, Paris, and Colmar in the end of October. He has been my shogi teacher, and I have taught him some English. Mr Takano is 28 years old, and a shogi professional in Junisen C2. Unfortunately, he has started the season with only one out of four, but he will try to improve on that on Tuesday, three days before his departure to Europe. Mr Takano is a very nice person and, I would like to say, the best teacher I have ever met among the shogi professionals. He has the ability of understanding the humbleness of (my) amateur shogi level and explaining in a very detailed and clear way the proper way of playing. He is maybe a little doubtful about his English ability, but it is fine. So, finally I would recommend all of you to take part in Mr Takano's shogi lessons in Europe. Details may be provided by the organisers in each place. Sincerely yours, Dr. Martin Danerud President of the Swedish Shogi Federation Vice president of FESA
