In spite of this, the atmosphere was very friendly with no incidents = whatsoever. =20 After the first day only one player, Terje Christoffersen, had 3 points = out of 3. I had the doubtful pleasure of facing the strength of the = Norwegian rising star Rickard Bjerke in the 1st round.=20 In a week moment after the game, I wished that the tournament had been = played with the MacMahon system instead. If that had been the case I = wouldn't have to face these coming players at all. And, god forbid, if I = had to anyway, and they conquer me, I would still finish above them in = the end, just superb. Kenji Taguchi, Robert Soderberg, Jan Palmgren and Antje Rapmund also = started pretty well with 2 points out of 3.=20 In the 4th round Christoffersen lost a very tough game aganist me so = suddenly the tournament was wide open with 5 players (Christoffersen, = Bjerke, Taguchi, Rapmund and me) sharing the lead with 3 points. =20 In the 5th round Bjerke won against Christoffersen, Rapmund lost against = Soderberg and I won against Taguchi which left Bjerke and me in the = lead. This was also the standing after the 6th round since there was no = major upset there. After some calculations it was clear that Bjerke had = a few SoS-points less than me, so he had to content himself with the = next largest cup.=20 Among the players with 4 points, Christoffersen had faced the toughest = opponents so he brought the smallest cup with him back to Norway. = Taguchi who played a very aestetic type of shogi finished in 4th place = and one of the Swedish coming men, Paul Andersson, spurted with three = straight wins to finish in 5th place. For complete results and crosstable, please view the attached files. Hope to see you all in Goteborg next year.=20 Carl Johan Nilsson Goteborg Shogi Society ------=_NextPart_000_003F_01C057EF.9B6A2940 Content-Type: text/plain; name="Final result.txt" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="Final result.txt" Final Standings (Round 6) Goteborg Open Surname Elo Sco Sos Sdos 1 NILSSON,Carl Johan (1) . 1828 5 22 17 2 BJERKE,Rickard (8) . 1238 5 19 16 3 CHRISTOFFERSEN,Terje (2) . 1705 4 22 12 4 TAGUCHI,Kenji (3) . 1600 4 21 12 5 ANDERSSON,Paul (10) .(1000) 4 15 8 6 SODERBERG,Robert (4) . 1575 3 24 11 7 RAPMUND,Antje (7) . 1262 3 19 7 8 PALMGREN,Jan (6) . 1268 3 18 6 9 JANSSON,Mikael (12) . 815 3 15 3 10 NORDGREN,Rickard (11) . 967 3 12 4 11-12 THORNVALL,Ronny (5) . 1526 2 19 3 GAMMELGARD,Tor (9) . 1042 2 17 1 13 SKOTNICKI,Rickard (13) .
