From: Doug Dysart KASPAROVCHESS COM> Date: 8 nov 2000 Subject: The Dice Report - Corrections "The Dice Report" for the 2000 US Championship contained some errors. Here are some important corrections: => Larry Kaufman is not the East Coast Meijin. That honor goes to George Fernandez, who has had this title for 3 years now. => Three players were seeded into the KO phase of the US Championship. They were: 1) Yoshihisa Suzuki 4-Dan - Last year's US Champion 2) Larry Kaufman 5-Dan - Highest rated player, 3 Dan or above, from the furthest club from NY [Mr. Tsuruoka was not available to play on Sunday]. 3) Yasufumi Fujiwara 4-Dan - Highest rated player, 3 Dan or above, from the next furthest club from NY. => The tickets to Japan were provided by H.I.S. Travel agency => The shogi software and books were donated by Mr. Hayashi's friend in Japan, Mr. Kaneki. => The westerners with whom I was not yet acquainted were Michael Pustilnik and Alex Trotter, so now I have the correct spelling. Now my report is complete. There may be another report done by one of the US Shogi Federation organizers soon, so stay tuned.
