I noticed that the British Championship is tentatively scheduled for
May.  Earlier this year, I recall that same tournament serving as the
qualifier for the 2000 New York World Championship, which was also
held in May.

It has been passed along to me that the 2001 New York World
Championship will be in May next year (this seems tentative as
well).  Thus, I thought you might want to hold back on making a date
for your tournament, or consider bumping it up to April.

This would seem prudent for organizers of other qualifying
tournaments around the world as well.  I hope to know more about the
tournament's dates in the near future.
