The large majority of Shogi players live in Japan; the strongest players are Japanese; there is far more money involved in Shogi in Japan than in the West. We can only try to build up Shogi in the West (the WSC in New York has helped and will help tremendously in that respect) and hope that at some point we become near equals in numbers, strength and finances. If that ever happens, we might talk to the Renmei as equals. At this point we are in no position to give NSR any rights as they can already decide exactly what they want to do. Ciao, Pieter
