Essentially that's what a knockout is, because the winners keep playing the winners till you get a clear champion, but as long as everyone else is there why not play rateable games? My question would be is it necessary to find a third, fourth, fifth place for everyone, rather than just play rateable games? Another possibility may be to run a side skittles tournament, whether people challenge one another or are paired by someone else, and play those games under tournament controls. Tony
