Early announcements said that the Shogi World Championship would be held in White Plains. No memtion was made of Armonk. Armonk is about 10 miles Northeast of North White Plains and North White Plains provides the closest bus or train stop. When I complained about the US Shogi Championship being held in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, the shogi officials threatened to ban me from competition. I wonder what they will do now that I am complaining that their "World Championship" was held in an equally remote location and, even worse, players came from Japan to play, thinking that the event was being held in New York City.
