The Winner of the Shogi World Championship will be invited to the
Amateur Ryuo-Sen in Japan in the year 2001.
The Ryuo-Sen is one of the most prestigious tournaments in Japan hosted
by Yomiuri Shimbun and Nihon Shogi Renmei.
The committee is very honored to be notified of the invitation by the
hosts of Ryuo-Sen and is grateful to Nihon Shogi Renmei and Yomiuri
Shimbun for the decision.
The official invitation to the Ryuo-Sen represents a great recognition
to the Shogi World Championship.

Glad to inform you that Washington, D.C. will hold the qualifying
tournament on April 2.
