From: Sam Sloan ISHIPRESS COM> Date: 25 mar 2000 Subject: Shogi World magazine I have every issue of Shogi World magazine ever published, I believe. There were only four issues. Volume 1 Number 1 was for Winter 1988-1989. Volume 1, Number 4 was for Autumn 1999. This was a quartery publication. The issues were all either 16 or 20 pages long. It was with paper cover, not slick cover. Most of the articles were by Glyndon Townhill, a British 4-dan player who has lived most of his life in Japan. There were also beginner's articles. The quality of the articles was quite good and very instructive. The magazine closed down because it had less than 100 subscribers. It would be possible to revive the magazine, but only if there is guaranteed an adequate subscriber base, or if a wealthy parton can be found willing to support the publcation. Sam Sloan
