EUROPEAN CHAMPION: Mr.Arend van Oosten, Netherlands. USA CHAMPION: Mr. Yoshihisa Suzuki(New York) WORLD SHOGI FORUM CHAMPION (Runner Up): Mr. Larry Kaufman (Washington D.C.) Note: The Champion, Mr. Hayashi is living in Japan and the Committee decided to invite the runner up Mr. Kaufman. Germany: German Shogi Championship and Qualifying Tournament for Deutscheland were held together. Mr. Kei Ichiyanagi won the ticket to New York. Mr. Boris Mirnik won the German Championship. Hong Kong opened Qualifying Tournament: Winner is Mr. Kisao Ichihara The Winner of Los Angeles is Mr. Takushi Asada, 15 years old. Finland succeeded to open the tournament on April 8th in Oulu.
