I've now got it to work using LaTeX2e on Linux and using the MiKTeX port of TeX/Metafont/LaTeX, etc. on Windows NT. It's great. I do endorse Edi's comment that it is best to generate a new .tfm and gf/pk files using mf (Metafont). I also echo the call for OhTeX to be uploaded to CTAN. Kudos to the ETL LaTeX experts fo producing such a wonderful package. I particularly like the ability to produce user-defined tsume shogi using only a portion of the board.
