Subject: Chu 2000 - proposal on the date

(QUITE IMPORTANT) ANNOUNCEMENT:

To everyone whom it may concern (and please, spread the news
to those who may not have gotten this message):

I propose to hold the European Chu Shôgi tournament 2000 in

Septenmber, (Fri 8th,) Sat 9th and Sun 10th 2000

in Alfter (near Köln [Cologne] and Bonn).

It would be nice to start Friday in the early evening; yet I
realise that this may be difficult for those of you with
families and children. (However, it would be possible to
drop children at the Phantasialand park nearby or the
Rheinisches Freilicht-Museum at Kommern [which displays old
houses, farms, and community buildings from the Rhineland;
quite nice!])
Alfter can be reached by car, train, and plane (public
transport to Alfter itself is available from Cologne and
Bonn). Details will follow.

So, let me (and the other participants) know whether you'd
be able to come on Friday so we'll be able to decide on this.
Registration starts today. You needn't be a first-class
player; just come to enjoy the rare opportunity to play real
Chu over the board!

Accommodation will be indoors-camping style (free); cheap
other hotels etc. (about 40 DM/person/night) are nearby and available.
