The MSO 2000 Shogi Council (Larry Kaufman, Jonathan Tisdall, David Levy, Martin Danerud, Marc Theeuwen, Hans Secelle and myself) have put together a very attractive program for all Shogi lovers everywhere. LARGEST TOURNAMENT EVER ----------------------- The main event, the combined European Shogi Championship/MSO Worldwide Shogi Championship (ESC/MSOWSC), promises to be the largest Shogi tournament ever held in Europe. A survey among all 10 FESA member countries and USSF leads us to expect 70-110 participants. Add to this our friends who will join us from Japan, and it is clear this will be a spectacular event! PRIZE FUND, FREE LODGING, FREE MEALS ------------------------------------ We have an attractive prize fund of 4,000 GBP (about 6,500 USD). In addition, a minimum of 60 participants of the ESC/MSOWSC will receive free lodging and meals (full board) for the duration of that event (3 days). Some money will also be used towards partial reimbursement of travel expenses. Together with FESA and USSF, the MSO 2000 Shogi Council is currently establishing the eligibility criteria for full board and travel reimbursement. As soon as that has been done, we will publish the details.
