You can have the year 2000 as the first year of = the 'Millennium' if you _really_ want to (makes little difference to me) = but you're not having it as the first year of the 21st century. Why do = you think the _current_ century is called the 20th? Could it be that it = started with the year 1901 and ends with the year 2000? (20x100...) The 1st century AD did not begin with the year 0, it began with the year = 1 AD and ended with the year 100 AD - the prevailing logic would in fact = have the 1st century AD begin with the year 1 BC, which just about shows = up the absurdity of it all.
