Venue: The Boathouse, Chesterton Road, Cambridge, UK. The venue overlooks the River Cam, about 20 minutes walking distance from the historic University City of Cambridge. The public house sells food and drink during normal licensing hours. Format: Swiss/McMahon tournament of 6 rounds (no handicaps). Possibly split into Dan-Group (1-kyu and above) and Kyu-Group(s) (2-kyu and below). Highest placed British entrant will win the title of British Shogi Champion, and will represent Britain at the Shogi World Championship in New York on May 19-21. Highest placed entrant of any nationality will win the title of British Open Shogi Champion.
