From: "Anthony R. Glass" MTCO COM> Date: 11 apr 2000 Subject: Shogi on ItsYourTurn.com??? I've just rejoined the list after some years, so forgive me if I'm repeating a previous discussion, irritating an old wound or whatever... A representative at ItsYourTurn.com has informed me that Shogi is on the long-term to-do list of games to add to its current roster, which incidentally now includes Xiangqi. I'll bet a bit of nudging from the Shogi community, particularly those of us in the west who have few live human opponents, might just move that item a little further up the priority list. In any case, I think they should realize that it's an idea whose time has come. For those of you not familiar with the concept, a chief advantage to ItsYourTurn is that it is not java based, so those of us wishing to spend a lunch hour at work tossing off a game or two aren't cut off by a corporate firewall or sludgy transfer rates. It's not exactly real time, but you have an html board to move on, and you are notified by email of your opponents response (or you can just check the page for game status). Sort of between email shogi and the real-time java variety. This is FYI and not a paid promotion. Anthony R. Glass
