I took the effort do download MRJ and IE during the weekend, and now I'm in buisiness on Shogi Dojo! One time IE hung for me, but after that I successfully finished a couple of games. (I was a bit embarrassed when it hung though, as I just had made a mistake that put me behind in the game, and it would not be nice if my opponent got the impression that I tried to escape a lost game. Oh well..) Per Kristiansson wrote: > The Java engine for Mac has some stability issues. So I now fill in my view of it.. > Albrecht Heeffer wrote: > > From: Ralf Lundberg > > At work, using Netscape 4.6 on a PC the applets start fine. Anyway, why should you play shogi at work? :-) In this particular case I started it just to test differences in behaviour, PC versus Mac, and firewall versus not. (And it can not be considered part of my job to play Shogi. Unfortunately:-) But back in 1993, I was in a similar situation when I discovered IGS, the Internet Go Server. By then I had no decent internet connection at home, so I often stayed an hour or two at my office after work to play some games. Sometimes I also took up and finished interupted games during normal working hours. Knowing my own weakness for games I however kept that to a minimum, as I realized that I easily would lose control otherwise. I guess that the situation of no decent connection from home still can be valid for many people. So, let everybody play the way that suits them best! I now look forward to get as much enjoy out of Shogi Dojo as I have gotten from IGS!
