From: Jose Gomez NEURO MED UMN EDU> Date: 20 sep 1999 Subject: Re: More views on Shogi Dojo I have tried the Shogi Dojo quite a few times and I think it is great. The only problems I experience is that I can't get any text, it all comes in as a bunch of rectangles. I figure because of the large number of Japanese players, that they are conversing in Japanese and the my ENGLISH IE5 doesn't understand the JIS or Shift-JIS or EUC codes (whatever it is they are using). I do have the Japanese font pack for IE5 and can read Japanese web pages, but the Java program must be something entirely different. Otherwise, it is really a lot of fun and there are always lots of people playing. BTW, I have never had the difficulty with challenges you mentioned though of course their login names are often incomprehensible for the above stated reason I think.
