From: Phil Holland HOLLANDNUMERICS DEMON CO UK> Date: 4 sep 1999 Subject: 1999 Royston Shogi Congress - in Cambridge(!) on Saturday 11th Phil Holland is running the annual 1-day Royston Shogi Congress in Cambridge(!), England, on Saturday September 11th 1999. The venue, The Boathouse in Chesterton Road, will be the same as that used for the 1998 and 1999 British Open Shogi Championships. The Congress will include the Doug McGown Memorial Shogi Tournament, the British Open Tori-Shogi Championships, and the Open Mini-Shogi Competition. Entry fees for the Shogi or Tori-Shogi events will be GBP5.00 (GBP2.50 for under-18's), and free entry to the Mini-Shogi Competition for all Shogi and Tori-Shogi entrants. There will be a special GBP1.00 discount for PSL (Postal Shogi League) members! Registration is from 1000hr, with the 1st round games for Shogi and Tori-Shogi scheduled to begin at around 1030hr. Players of all standards are very welcome to compete, and, if you don't wish to compete this year, then you will also be welcome to come and see how the established Shogi and Tori-Shogi Congress works and meet the players.
