From: Pieter Stouten SHOGI NET> Date: 17 oct 1999 Subject: Shogi.Net. Logo design contest. Volunteer. I am in the process of creating a web site at that is completely devoted to Shogi. The files that currently reside at have already migrated and will in due course disappear from the IOL site. Shogi.Net aims to become a central Shogi site, and for example the Italian Shogi Association (AIS) has already moved in at . If any other national Shogi Association wants to publish its pages on Shogi.Net, please contact me. I think considerable synergy is possible when many Shogi pages are available from one central site. Shogi.Net will not be a personal Shogi site of mine. The current logo says "Pieter Stouten's Shogi Home Page," however, so it needs to be replaced. For this reason I invite everybody to submit designs of their own for the new Shogi.Net logo. The rules and conditions are as follows: 1) The winner gets a free copy of "Sekita Shogi," generously donated by Nobuyoshi Sekita m-net ne jp>. 2) The name of the winner will be featured on the Shogi.Net home page for a period of at least a year after the logo is first used. 3) I determine the winning logo and its copyright will be transferred to me. The logo must not contain elements, copyrighted by any others but the designer. 4) The logo must contain the text Shogi.Net (including the dot; use of capitals, small letters or a mix is the designer's choice) and no other text. Kanji can be used freely. The logo's width should be about 400-500 pixels, its height no more than 120. Non-animated versions with a file size of no more then 20 kB are preferred. 5) Any designer can submit multiple logos, but please don't overwhelm me with too many. 6) The last date for submission of logos is Sunday 31 October 1999. At present, Marco Durante and I maintain the Shogi.Net web site, but we are looking for one more volunteer who will work with us in maintaining, updating, expanding and improving the site. Some programming experience (e.g., in CGI scripting) would be an asset. Be aware that we cannot offer anything but eternal fame and gratitude! Thanks a million, Pieter Stouten shogi net>
