To become a member of the European Federation (FESA), just apply with
Hans Secelle (FESA president) at <j.secelle <at> cddb <dot> minfin <dot> be>, let him
know the composition of your board/executive committee (names of e.g.
president, secretary, treasurer) and most importantly, provide him
with the names of your (two) FESA representatives. The FESA annual
general meeting typically takes place during the European Shogi
Championship (ESC, next one: 25-27 August 2000 at the Mindsports
Olympiad in London), so it would be wisest to elect FESA
representatives that are likely to attend the ESC.

There is no official world Shogi organization, but by default the
Nihon Shogi Renmei serves that purpose. What you need to do is to
inform Mr. Onogi Kiyoshi that you have founded your association and
apply for "shibu" (branch) status. Mr. Onogi can be reached at Nihon
Shogi Renmei, 2-39-9 Sendagaya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Phone:
+81-3-3408-6161. Fax +81-3-3404-7301. I have found fax the best
medium to communicate with Mr. Onogi.
