Subject: The Bare King rule

After a small discussion with George Hodges and Colin Paul Adams about
the Bare king rule in Chu Shogi I got very confused. Can someone please
state the bare king rule in Chu Shogi exactly so that there will be no
further misinterpretations. My second question is about the same rule in
the other shogi variants. Is there such a rule? If I recall correctly
the book of tenjiku ("Struggle for survival") states that there is such
a rule. But this doesn't seem like the one in chu. I am confused...
