From: Peter Banaschak T-ONLINE DE> Date: 10 nov 1999 Subject: Anyone care for a Chu tournament? (Repost) Until now five (plus myself) participants have made themselves heard. It sems that not everyone who actually plays Chu will be entering -- what a pity! I hope this repost will make all the other Chu players think again... Please inform all the others who might not be on the list about this last Chu tournament of this millenium! To all it may concern: After the Chu-Shogi tournament of October, 4th and 5th 1997 im Münster (Germany) it seems about time to have a new tournament... I have just begun to plan the 2nd European Chu-Shogi tournament.(which in fact wouldn't be limited to Europeans...) I suggest that it should take place in Alfter (near Bonn, the once German seat of government) somewhere in Summer or Autumn next year, either on a weekend or an extended weekend (including Friday or Monday). Arrangements for free accommodation (indoors camping style) are already made. In order to make it possible for everyone interested to come, I ask you to make proposals for the month in which the tournament should be held, preferably including information on whether the extended weekend option would be ok. PLEASE REPLY TO ME, NOT TO THE LIST! As soon as I know of a number of possible participants, I will continue organising. Anything new will be announced through Shogi-L. I hope everyone will jump to the opportunity to play Chu over the board, and entrants' email will clutter my Inbox. I am looking forward to hearing from you! Greetings, Peter
