It's seems to me that crosstables for minor European events are similarly of minimal interest to the majority of subscribers to this list, but no one has complained and I'm not complaining now. Keep the crosstables coming, by the way, the US championship crosstable has never been posted to the list. It's a rare posting, indeed, that is of interest to EVERY subscriber. > >The coming FIST tournament is a major event for western amateur shogi I'm sorry, never heard of the FIST tournament. Please explain it. I also saw a web page for the 3rd Mind Games Olympics. Will shogi be included again this year? > >The Meijin tournament is still in competition, . And I >read only a very few number of mails on this subject. > Reijer Grimbergen's analysis of professional shogi games has been appearing on this list for several years now and the number of follow up questions/comments can be counted on the fingers of two hands. Analysis of weird variant games attracts more interest perhaps because most people are intimidated by professional games. As far as the Meijin match, you've said it all: 2-2 and both players want to win. As far as human interest stories, whatever happened to Nakahara vs. Hayashiba and I never did learn the reason why Hayashiba retired from women's shogi.
