I arrived at 12:30 PM, which was 2 1/2 hours after the registration
for the tournament started.

It is true that I was late, but when the director gave me a first
round opponent, he told me that this counted as part of the
tournament.

I told this to George Fernandez and he said something to the director
in Japanese.

I do not know what happened. Did Fernandez tell the director not to
let me in because I was too late? I do not know. I do know that I
arrived during the middle of the second round of play and my lateness
was entirely due to the remoteness of the location which was on a golf
course in Hoffman Estates which is a rural area 30 miles from Chicago.
Had they made any effort to do so, they could have given me a second
round opponent and allowed me to compete for the championship and I
would not be protesting now.
