I meant the Java Shogi site in Japan which is referenced from Pieter's
site. (My vote best english Shogi site.)
On occasion I have tried this site when the server did not appear to be
working but mostly /i had no problems.  I could never get any of the
alternate sites to work but I have almost no patience with software that
does not work mindlessly. (I should be ashamed as a software designer
for this I suppose but I guess as a former math student I am quite
lazy.) In Canada, we have a bookstore called Chapters which offers
people internet service. In the case of the internet service offered by
Chapters they are extremely paranoid in terms of computer security and
for this reason the Java Shogi site does not work there at all. Perhaps
if you accessed the site from an internet cafe type place, you may have
the same problem.

I hope you can get it working. Perhaps we can play sometime; i am likely
in the 9K and under category and go by the name of hockaonchi. (I think
this should mean person without sense of direction.)
