Subject: Chu shogi rules question

Chu shogi experts:

I have a question about the Lion's move (don't we all? :-)  If a Lion is
surrounded by pieces of its own side on all eight adjacent squares (or less
for a side or a corner) is it still permitted to make a passing move
i.e. move and return to its original square?  Of course, this is almost
certainly never going to happen, but it needs clarification for
completeness.
