Apropos the discussion about the differences in piece movement in tai
and taikyoku.

The right and the left generals in the diagrams of taikyoku are
described to step move
in all directions. This is not the case in tai (why would the else be
called left and
right generals?). To get this right (as Steve Evans says) we must
examine (or let someone examine) the primary sources. Does any one have
copies of these? Is it possible to get
them on the web for everyone to read?
