My point is that Shogidojo has a high potential to be a real Shogi portal site worldwide if all the function of it become available in English and I never deny the possibility for any mass-market portal site like Yahoo to be lisenced by Shogidojo. In my opinion, the success factors of Shogidojo are not only providing a good online platform to play shogi, but also depending much on the sitemaster's planning ability and practice. The current function/contents of Shogidojo available in English are very limited. The function/contents which are not available in English are; Forums/Bulletin Boards Shogi Question Box Event forum "Daily report of play" forum "Club Ryu-o-sen" tournament forum "Club Meijin-sen" tournament forum "Club Ouza-sen" tournament forum "Club Tatsujin-sen" tournament forum "Club Oza-sen" forum Record room Shogidojo software Q&A forum Free talking forum Kifu database(more than several hundred thousand gamescores) Kitajima 5dan(Pro)'s commentary corner and many more. The sitemaster reads every writings in all the forums and writes by himeself whenever necessary. He often shows up almost every forum. If there is a sitemaster who uses English and he make the abovementioned function available in English, Shogidojo will certainly serve to non Japanese players(Westerners especially) much better than now. According to Shogidojo's announcement of 10/18/1999, it has decided to keep free for those within Japan as well. The sitemaster is sure he will be able to find sponsors due to the increase of access to the site. Manabu Get your FREE, private e-mail account at http://mailcity.lycos.ne.jp
