From: Kevin Delashmit AOL COM> Date: 16 aug 1999 Subject: Japanese phrases Can anyone help me to expand my limited Japanese vocabulary? I play at JAVAShogi and it is a little frustrating to not have at least the rudiments of the predominant language. There is no Shogi club in Texas, so I play on the net. Today, three one word messages were sent to me during a game... Yorosiku Shosinshadesukedo Omatasesimasita I believe Yorosiku is equivalent to "hello" and I know that Arigato or Arigatou can mean "I resign" or "Thank you" or "Thank you (goodbye)"... but I have no clue about these other 2 words . Any help in this small matter would be appreciated. I learned long ago in my travels that courtesy should require the traveler to at least learn "please, thank you & your welcome " in the language of the people being visited. I would like to be able to do the same here. Thanks, Del
