From: Manabu Terao JAPAN SUN COM> Date: 16 sep 1998 Subject: Re: Ryu-O challenger match I'm not so upset since Fujii got 23 wins of last 28 games while Habu seems not as strong as he used be the 7 major title holders. This is the news Furibisha(ranging rook) lovers long. After Oyama and Moriyasu passed away, there have been no Furibisha Specialist holding and even challenging any major title, if my memory works correctly:-) According to Yomiuri Shimbun, Fujii is the man who has brought revolution called Fujii's system in the 400 year long history of ranging rook. And he is going to be promoted to 7-dan in consideration of being a Ryu-O challenger, regardless the result of Juni-Sen. I personally hope that new joseki of 4th file rook vs. static rook will be established during this title match. The first game will take place in New York on Oct 15 thru 16.
