From: Doug Dysart EMAIL UC EDU> Date: 20 oct 1998 Subject: US Shogi Federation Hi shogi lovers, Josh Krekeler just got back from New York, and boy is his shogi hand tired. :<> Whoa, that was bad, but THIS is great! Check out what Josh told me: > You were officially appointed as Web Page Coordinator. Wow! And on the same day that I get my brand new laptop PC!! Well, before I go bragging, I want everyone to know that I've only been web programming for a few months. I've gotten some positive feedback on my pages, but I've got a long way to go. Any criticism/helpful hints are welcome. Any material you would like published, if relevant, should be directed to Josh or me. Before you go tearing up my web site, do note that I've only been doing it as a hobby until now. I will presently be giving it mucch more attention and TLC (after I pass my Midterms!). Oh, one more thing. Those wacky guys in New York changed the Shogi Federation of America's name to the United States Shogi federation. It certainly rings of US Chess Federation, but that's probably a good thing. Of course, I had to move the web site because of this. The USSF web page is currently located at: http://members.theglobe.com/ohioshogi/ussf.html Because we are taking ourselves more seriously now, however, I may lobby for a better URL (e.g. www.usshogi.com) and will definitely get a better email address (e.g. ussf wherever com). Alright, enough babbling. I'd like to congratulate Larry Kaufman for his tourney win and everyone else in New York for exceeding my expectations on holding the USSF's first meeting. Also, thank you very much for appointing me web coordinator. I only hope I can please you all with a pleasant performance.
