Hello George and GSDB Fans, I know the solution is not perfect, but writing a wrapper would make the applet/program platform dependend. You need the Java Development Kit (JDK) from Sun Microsystems. Most real operating systems like Linux, Solaris, AIX, MacOS, provide the JDK standard in the distribution. (Microsoft fans can download the JDK from the web.) Although the program is now used to create (at least) the diagrams for the German and the Belgian shogi magasines, I'm not inclined to put huge amounts of work into it anymore. This is because I have the feeling that I'm wasting too much time on it. So far I have received notice from maybe 5 or 6 people that they are working with GSDB. This being said, there is a new version in the making. Just don't ask me when it's going to be ready ! I have used GSDB myself to browse through the pro games from the Shogi Nexus site, and this probably helped me a lot to get my shogi-game to a higher level.
