From: Martin Danerud PARTILLE MAIL TELIA COM> Date: 2 nov 1998 Subject: Shogi in the north Dear shogi friends! In less than two weeks there will be an international shogi tournament in Stockholm, Sweden. We do not think that there has ever been a shogi tournament with more participants or stronger players further north than this on our planet (correct us if we are wrong!). We already have more than ten participants, and our aim is now to reach twenty participants, which would make Stockholm Open the biggest tournament ever in Sweden. Among our international guests we already know that Ms Irina Novikova, who has stayed in Sweden since we hosted the professional player Makoto Chuza in October, will take part. Furthermore, we hope to see our Norwegian and Finnish shogi friends in Stockholm, and of course we welcome all readers of this mailing list to join us and make history in Stockholm in November! The Swedish Shogi Federation has the pleasure to invite to Stockholm Open 1998 Round schedule: Round: Time: 1 Sat November 14 1.00 p.m. 2 Sat November 14 4.00 p.m. 3 Sat November 14 7.00 p.m 4 Sun November 15 9.00 a.m. 5 Sun November 15 noon. 6 Sun November 15 3.00 p.m. Personal registration: Sat November 14 12.45 p.m. Time limit: 1 hour + 30 s byo-yomi.
