From: DougD UCBEH SAN UC EDU> Date: 3 jul 1998 Subject: Shogi in Boston Hi everyone, My memory (and email folders) has failed me again, so I just wanted to see about a posting that was made a few weeks ago. At the time, it wasn't relevant, but now it may be. A person named Hans posted a note about his coming trip to Boston in July. He wanted to meet up with a shogi player. If he's still interested, a member of the Ohio Shogi Club, Josh Krekeler, will be there around July 25, if memory serves me correctly. If he is still interested in meeting there, at least one of our members could make it, I believe. Maybe more could meet there. That leads me to another question: how many other cities, like Boston, have any shogi organizations or significant players who could potentially start a club? It seems like cities such as Boston and Baltimore could have decent shogi clubs. There has always been a scattered number of skilled shogi players throughout the Midwest for as long as I have been playing shogi. Sincerely, Doug Dysart Ohio Shogi Club
