It's too bad you lost that message.  The reason we passed up US Shogi
Federation is because it definitely excludes Canada, Mexico, etc.  We're
not ready to that yet.  On top of that, we liked the sound of Shogi
Federation of America.  Its chief competitor was Shogi USA, but it lost in
the end, especially because it also is excluding.

BTW, the USCF is under some controversy, as well as FIDE, so maybe right
now USSF is even less popular. :-)
