From: Matt Casters NETPOINT BE> Date: 4 sep 1997 Subject: European Championships 1997 games Dear Shogi-L, For the moment we have received 50 games from the latest European Championships 1997. These games are ofcourse available in the GNU Shogi Database. (http://www.netpoint.be/shogi/gsdb) I did an export in ASCII format for those of you that are interested. You can grab a small ZIP file from the web at http://www.netpoint.be/shogi/gsdb/files/ek97asci.zip (31.379 bytes) This zip-file contains two text-files : ec97psn.txt and ec97esn.txt 2 formats are available : ESN and PSN. Both claim to be in "Portable Shogi Notation". An ESN example would be : (NOT a typical game of the champion) [Sente "Eric Cheymol, 4dan"] [Gote "Toyokazu Miyamoto, 4dan"] [Date "1997 August 23"] [Country "Belgium"] [Event "European Championships 1997"] [Round "6"] [Result "1-0"] [Source "Eric Cheymol"] 1 P7f P3d 2 P2f P4d 3 S4h S4b 4 P5f P5d 5 P9f S6b 6 S5g G3b 7 S4f S6b5c 8 P2e S3c 9 R5h G4c 10 S6h P8d 11 S7g K4b 12 K6h K3b 13 K7h P9d 14 B7i P1d 15 P3f G5b 16 R2h P8e 17 P3e P3e 18 S3e P'3d 19 P2d P2d 20 S2d S2d 21 P'2c B3a 22 B2d S'3c 23 S'2b { Bx3c+ is better} S2d 24 R2d B4b 25 S2a= K4a 26 R2h P'2g 27 R2g B'3f 28 R3g P3e 29 P1f S6b 30 P2b+ B6d 31 P5e B5e 32 S'4f P8f 33 P8f B6d 34 P'5e P'8e 35 S3e B4e 36 S4f P8f 37 R3b+ K5a 38 P'8h B2g+ 39 G4i5h G4c4b 40 +R2c +B4i 41 N'7i K6a 42 +P3b G4b5c 43 P'3d N9c 44 P3c+ N8e 45 S6f P9e 46 +P3b4b P9f 47 S3b+ K7b 48 +R2a P8g+ 49 P8g P'8a 50 S7e P9g+ 51 S6d P6d 52 +P5b G5b 53 B'6a K6c 54 G'8c +P8h 55 K8h L9i+ 56 N7g +L8i 57 K7h +L7i 58 G7i G5a 59 N8e G6a 60 N'7e K7d 61 +R6a L'7g 62 K8h +B5h 63 N7c+ The PSN version is : [White "Eric Cheymol, 4dan"] [Black "Toyokazu Miyamoto, 4dan"] [Date "1997/08/23"] [Country "Belgium"] [Event "European Championships 1997"] [Round "6"] [Result "1-0"] [Source "Eric Cheymol"] 1.P7f P3d 2.P2f P4d 3.S4h S4b 4.P5f P5d 5.P9f S6b 6.S5g G3b 7.S4f S6b-5c 8.P2e S3c 9.R5h G4c 10.S6h P8d 11.S7g K4b 12.K6h K3b 13.K7h P9d 14.B7i P1d 15.P3f G5b 16.R2h P8e 17.P3e Px3e 18.Sx3e P'3d 19.P2d Px2d 20.Sx2d Sx2d 21.P'2c B3a 22.Bx2d S'3c 23.S'2b (A) Sx2d 24.Rx2d B4b 25.Sx2a= K4a 26.R2h P'2g 27.Rx2g B'3f 28.R3g P3e 29.P1f S6b 30.P2b+ B6d 31.P5e Bx5e 32.S'4f P8f 33.Px8f B6d 34.P'5e P'8e 35.Sx3e B4e 36.S4f Px8f 37.R3b+ K5a 38.P'8h B2g+ 39.G4i-5h G4c-4b 40.+R2c +B4i 41.N'7i K6a 42.+P3b G4b-5c 43.P'3d N9c 44.P3c+ N8e 45.S6f P9e 46.+P3b-4b Px9f 47.S3b+ K7b 48.+R2a P8g+ 49.Px8g P'8a 50.S7e P9g+ 51.Sx6d Px6d 52.+Px5b Gx5b 53.B'6a K6c 54.G'8c +P8h 55.Kx8h Lx9i+ 56.N7g +L8i 57.K7h +Lx7i 58.Gx7i G5a 59.Nx8e Gx6a 60.N'7e K7d 61.+Rx6a L'7g 62.K8h +Bx5h 63.Nx7c+ (A) Bx3c+ is better ESM seems easier to decode for a machine. I plan to do an export of all 816 games in the Gnu Shogi Database to a text format. In version 2.5.1 of the GSDB you can also encode your own selection of games. (Goes online this weekend) A special thank you for everybody that entered their games, it saved us a LOT of work ! Have fun, Matt Casters
