Occasionally, that process fails and the posting in question does not get stored. The alternative to using his site is requesting the monthly collections of SHOGI-L postings from the listserver. These collections are complete, but they cannot be searched and you can only get entire monthly logs. To request a copy of a log file from the listserver, send to listserv techunix technion ac il the command GET SHOGI-L LOGyymm where yy and mm are two-digit numbers that represent the year and the month, respectively (e.g., LOG9611 is the log file of November 1996). >but if anyone happens to have a copy of any of >the following messages please send them to me. > I will send them to you under separate cover. >Thank you for the huge collection of information on Shogi that has been >posted through the years. Uncompressed their sizes are 1.8, 3.4 and 3.0 MB, respectively, but compressing reduces the size of text files a lot. Soon (keep your fingers crossed), I will open my Shogi.Net web site, where I plan to keep a searchable archive of all postings since the inception of the list in 1990.
