From: matt NETPOINT BE Date: 13 oct 1997 Subject: GSDB 2.6.1 Hello Shogi-L, Im very proud to announce version 2.6 of the Gnu Shogi Database. A very important step has been taken in this version to allow for the creation of game-trees. This means that you can add variations in a game. This feature is nice for example if you want to explore all the possible variations in a post-tournament analysis. In combination with the comments you can add on each move, you can build a complete opening course. (if you feel the urgent need to do so :-) By the way, I updated the website and gave it a new look. Basically that's it for this version. A total of 9000 lines of code for your convenience. Check it out on http://www.netpoint.be/shogi/gsdb/ Kind regards, Matt P.S. GSDB is a program written in Java and it runs on most platforms. Just stay away from Internet Explorer 4. Microsofts Implementation of Java is not up to standards. GSDB should run hapilly on Netscape Navigator version 3 or 4. (tested on Windows95 and Linux)
