Subject: Shogi Tournament

There will be a Shogi Tournament at Proviso West High School,
4701 W. Harrison Street, Hillside, Illinois.  (Enter from the north
on Harrison Street.)  It will start at 10:00 am on November 1, 1997.
It will be three rounds with 20 minutes on each clock with 10 second
byoyomi.  There will be trophies as prizes.
The exact details will depend on the number of entrants.
This will be the fourth year of this annual event.  It will be run by
Tony Salvaggioni from the Midwest Shogi Club.  (It is part of the
Proviso West Chess Clinic which also features talks by Western Chess
Masters (including Illinois State Champion Albert Chow) and a rated
western chess tournament.  The later will not conflict with the Shogi
Tournament.
The cost of the event is $10 per person.
