As I mentioned in my posting of Wed 17 Sep 1997, Eric Cheymol, Larry
Kaufman and I are working on an integrated Elo rating - dan/kyu grade -
handicap (RGH) system, whose primary aim is to harmonize practices in
Europe and the USA. I should be able to finish it this weekend after which
it will go to the FESA (European Federation) members and the American
ratings committee for criticism, comments and approval.

The proposed handicap - Elo rating difference (DElo) table is as follows:

handicap    DElo              handicap           DElo
sente         25              2p                  500
Lance         50              4p                  650
Bishop       200              5p (right kNight)   800
Rook         250              5p (left kNight)    900
Rook+Lance   350              6p                 1000

It is possible that this table will look different in the final version of
the RGH system, but I doubt it very much.
