From: Pieter Stouten DUPONTMERCK COM> Date: 30 nov 1997 Subject: Hot from the press (some important announcements) New email addresses ------------------- My email address has changed to pieter.stouten dupontmerck com. Please use that address from now on as the old address will stop working soon. Note also the new email address of Matthias Mutz (SHOGI-L ladder coordinator): mmutz sican-bs de. Takako Noda's "Quest of the Lost Systems" series ------------------------------------------------ All the "Quest" issues have been made available on my Shogi web site at . All information is available in both HTML and plain text formats. Only HTML pages 1 through 9 (out of 51) are in palatable format. I plan to convert the rest over the next couple of weeks. Pieter Stouten's Shogi site --------------------------- My site has undergone a face lift, obsolete links have been removed or updated, and new ones (most notably to the above "Quest" series and to Stephen Lamb's "Internet Shogi Club Requirements" page) have been added. If you come across a Shogi-related link that is not listed on my page, please drop me the URL and I will check it out. Our sponsor "Safe Jobs in Japan" -------------------------------- The web site of "Safe Jobs in Japan" has been revamped. Check them out if you are interested in working in Japan. They also have a job board with job openings all over Japan. You can even have job openings mailed to you automatically (a service, which more than 500 people already use!). Their collection of Japan and job-hunting related links is also worthwhile looking at. 1998 Mind Sports Olympiad ------------------------- Mark your calendars! The second Mind Sports Olympiad will take place from Monday 24 until Sunday 30 August 1998, and will feature one or more Shogi tournaments. For many people the high costs of accommodation in London was a stumbling block for participation in the first edition. The organizers are working on arranging cheaper alternatives for the 1998 event. More news will follow as soon as it breaks. Pieter Stouten, SHOGI-L owner pieter.stouten dupontmerck com
