Thank you for your letter regarding Ishi Press.

However, the address you provide of 1702-H Meridian Avenue, San Jose
California, was never a working address. It was the address of a Mail Boxes,
Etc. #193 was simply the PO Box number. That number has been defunct for
more than one year.

I do not know the status of Ishi UK Ltd. I have never been there. However, I
do know that Ishi UK and Ishi San Jose are part of the renegade group
controlled by Professor Elwyn Berlekamp. I advise anyone not to order any go
books from them because, as far as I know, they do not have any books. They
may cash your check and then say that they cannot get you the book because
there is a "problem" with us.

The problem is that they have not paid us for nearly $300,000 in books we
shipped to them during the periods 1991-1993 and until we get paid for the
books we already sent them we will not be sending them any more books.

We continue to be concerned about reports that our books have been reprinted
by the renegade group. So far, however, I have not seen any firm evidence of
recent reprints. If anyone comes across a recent reprint by this outlaw
band, please let me know.

Please remember that all go books and all issues of Go World magazine and
Shogi World magazine were published by the "real" Ishi Press, namely us. The
non-real Ishi Press, consisting of Elwyn Berlekamp, Nathaniel Berkowitz and
Hartland Snyder, do not even know how to play go or shogi. They have never
published a go book and would be incapable of doing so.
