From: Reijer Grimbergen ETL GO JP> Date: 9 may 1997 Subject: Meijin match game 3 [SPOILER] Yesterday Tanigawa won the third game of the Meijin-sen to take the lead for the second time (2-1). Thus far all three games have been won by black. Also, the number of moves is gradually going down from 99 to 79 to 69 in game three. 69 moves is the second shortest Meijin game in history. >From the TV comment I conclude that Habu chose the wrong defense to the first Tanigawa attack in the early middle game and was finished off quickly after that. More detailed comments after I see next week's Shukan Shogi.
