Possibly, Naito(9 dan) in B1 used to be and is still such a player. He is famous for the founder of Aereal Fight.(Kuchusen). Furthermore, though having passed away already, I cannot stop mentioning to Kozo Masuda. Habu said on several occasions he appreciate that Masuda's sense of opening is modern enough to stand up even today. > Also note the word "major". I would hesitate to call the Aifuribisha > major. The two slow strategies Mr. Terao mentions against the Furibisha > perhaps used to be major, but nowadays have all but died out. Indeed I admit Aifuribisha(Double Ranging Rook) is a minor opening strategy in professional matches, but it is played much more in games among lady professionals and amatuer players here in Japan. Aifuribisha might be popular comparing with Aigakari, Kakugawari and so on among them. Regards Manabu Terao
