From: Pieter Stouten CARBON DMPC COM> Date: 8 jun 1997 Subject: Exciting news about the Mind Sports Olympiad Please find below the latest news on the Mind Sports Olympiad. A very substantial amount of prize money will be available. The final amounts for the shogi tournaments have not yet been determined, but as soon as more information becomes available I'll be sure to pass it on. The dates and times of the shogi tournaments are as follows: * August 18-21: 10 am - 2 pm each day; 4 sessions of 3 games per session. * August 23: 4 pm - 8 pm. Quickplay. * August 24: 10 am - 2 pm. Quickplay. The four-day event (August 18-21) is immediately preceding the European Championship in Brussels (August 22-24). There is ample time to make the trip from London to Brussels by means of the very convenient channel tunnel train. If you were planning to attend the European Championship, this is *THE* opportunity to immerse yourself in an entire week of shogi, with the added bonus of being able to see the sights of two of Europe's most exciting cities. If you thought one tournament is not worth travelling a long distance, the opportunity to participate in two will probably make you reconsider.
