Yes, there is a Shogi font for (La)TeX! It is accompinied by a LaTeX style (OhTeX.sty) for LaTeX 2, I don't know if there is a newer version for LaTeX 2e. Yes, it works great on Linux!!! The diagrams are Japanes style; no a,b,c-i but Japanese 1-9.
